Senna Cosmetics Review

I had never tried anything from Senna but heard good thing around the blogosphere. So, I am thrilled to be able to present my own review.

Over the past few weeks I have been testing out some products sent to me from Senna Cosmetics and OMG they are totally wonderful! I had never tried anything from Senna but had heard many good things about the brand through reviews around the blogosphere. So, I am thrilled to be able to present my own review. I received a Form-a-Brow Kit in Dark, Brow Fix “X” gel in clear, Spot Lites Highlighting Pencil, Liquid Ice Illuminating Drops and Lip Lacquer in Lush.

The Form-a-Brow Kit ($42) contains a mirror compact with 3 different shades of brow powder, two mini brow brushes and four stencils in fine, natural, full and xtra full to shape the brows.

Using the 3-point brow shaping technique, these classic brow shapes will work for any brows.

The Brow Fix “X” brow gel ($18) plumps up brows with invisible fibers and holds the shape into place all day. It can be used alone or over powder, and works great when used with the Fix-a-Brow Kit.

Since my natural brows are pretty thin, I tried out the fine stencil and filled in my brows with the darkest powder. I found the brushes to be a little too small, so I opted to use my own angled eyebrow brush. After cleaning up my brows a bit with some concealer, and applying the Brow Fix “X” gel, here were my results:

My brows came out great and best of all, it stayed all day. The Brow Fix “X” gel is like a styling gel for the brows. It stiffened up a bit and my brows did not budge once it was dry.

Next up, the Spot Lites highlighting pencil, Liquid Ice and Lip Lacquer…

The Spot Lites Highlighting Pencil ($22) is a dual ended cream highlighter, one side pearly champagne and the other side pearly pink. It is perfect for brightening the eyes or highlighting the brow bones, cheek bones, upper lip etc.

The Spot Lights Highlighting pencil highlights well without adding glitter or sparkles. It also stays all day without needing any touch-ups.

The Liquid Ice drops ($17) is a pearly white liquid illuminator that gives the skin a dewy finish when added to liquid makeup and moisturizers. It can also be used directly on the skin on areas you wish to highlight such as the cheek bones, brow bones, and collar bone. It is not sparkly and won’t leave you looking like a disco ball. No glitter, just glow.

This was my favorite product out of the whole batch. All you need is a tiny bit and it gives such a gorgeous glow that lasts all day and doesn’t fade. I will definitely be adding this to my MUA kit.

Senna Lip Lacquers ($19) conditions lips with Vitamin E and Jojoba Oil and have a yummy vanilla flavor. It stays on long but was a bit too sticky in my opinion. Lush (shown above) a new Fall 2010 shade was a bit meh for my likes. From the looks in the tube, I expected it to be more pigmented but all I got was way too much glitter. My least favorite of the bunch.

Overall, Senna Cosmetics has high quality cosmetics that do what they say, and I like that. A lot of these products has made their way into my daily personal routine and I find them perfect for use in my MUA kit as well. I have to admit though that their products are on the pricey end of the spectrum… but in this case, you really get what you pay for.

  1. The highlighting products look nice…for some reason I'm drawn to luminizing products like a moth to a flame.
