Urban Decay Primer Potion Professional Size Review

If you haven't heard by now, the Urban Decay Primer Potion finally comes in a easy to use tube. A professional size tube at that!

If you haven’t heard by now, Urban Decay has finally listened to their customers and put the Urban Decay Primer Potion (UDPP) in a tube. A professional size tube at that! I purchased one for my MUA kit since I was able to get it on sale for 20% off. The old container that UDPP came in was super cute, however it wasted a lot of product.

The tube was inflexible with curved insides, so in order to get all of the product out you had  to cut the tube open. It was discovered that the tube was only half done when cut open, with plenty of product left. People were extremely upset since they were throwing away about a half of tube, and this stuff is not cheap. Well put down the knife because you no longer need it!

The new tube is huge. It has 150% more product than the original tube and is at least twice the size. Here is a comparison shot…

And here is a comparison of the professional size, original size and the travel size…

The professional size comes with a needle-nose tip to get the product out easier and it is also more hygienic. I am loving the new tube. It is good to see when a company listens to their customers. You only need a small amount so this tube will last forever… and ever… and ever. I am pretty sure you get it lol.

Urban Decay Primer Potion glides on smooth and dries ultra sheer. It makes my eyeshadows more vibrant, and keeps my shadow on my lids longer. I can do my makeup at 7am. Go to work. Hang out after work and come home after midnight or later. And my eyeshadow is still in tact. I have even fallen asleep with my shadow on (horrible I know) and in the morning… tada still in tact.  A little goes a long way. All you need is a tiny dab on each lid and spread.

Urban Deacay Primer Potion retails for $29 and can be purchased at Sephora.

  1. Wow I didn't know it came in a new tube..I'm going to have to buy it because I still have the fancier one. It does appear that there is a lot more in the new tube. I'm glad they listened because as much money as the primer costs we deserve more of it. Thanks for posting now I have to go and buy it lol.

    1. No problem at all girl. Not only do we deserve more, but I am glad to be able to get all of it out. We are in a recession, can\’t be wasting funds! lol

  2. My tube must have been defective, as soon as I uncapped it and squeezed the sealed part on the bottom popped open and it dried up. I love their primer though, I shall see about getting a new one.

    1. I wonder if Urban Decay is doing anything about this. Upon looking at the reviews on Sephora, I see a of people are experiencing this. I would take it back for a new tube… free of charge!

  3. I just got this, but the primer is pretty hard to squeeze out of the tube. It almost looks like the tube is going to burst when I finally use enough force to get the product out. I can't get air into the tube, so it's stuck in a vacuum seal. I saw a youtube review of this product and seems like it might be normal, but I think mine is a little harder to squeeze. Thanks for your comments!

    1. This is a known problem. A lot of people state in the reviews that they’ve experienced a new tube bursting at the seam under pressure. I just try not to squeeze too hard. 😉
