I recently had the opportunity to try out some makeup brushes from Bdellium Tools. Bdellium Tools brushes are supposedly made with anti-bacterial technology to keep their brushes hygienic and germ free. I can not attest to the anti-bacterial properties as I have no way to prove it, but what I can say is that these are some great brushes!
The Bdellium Tools brushes are soft and fluffy with no chemical smell. I love the bright yellow handles. It makes the brushes unique and easy to spot when you have a large collection of brushes. Now, Let’s take a closer look at the brushes…
957, 955, 948
The 957 Precision Kabuki Brush is a soft but dense synthetic flat top brush made for use with liquids, creams and powders. The flat top makes it perfect for buffing makeup to a flawless finish. I have been using this brush to buff in my setting powder and it works very well with no shedding whatsoever. When I first saw this brush I thought of my Sigma Flat Top Kabuki. Here is a comparison…
Bdellium Tools, Sigma
The Bdellium Tools Precision Kabuki has a longer handle as well as longer fibers and a larger surface area than the Sigma Flat Top Kabuki. The two tone color is also on opposite ends. The Sigma Flat Top Kabuki also has firmer bristles for fuller coverage. The brushes are different enough to justify having both in your collection.
The 955 Finishing Brush is a duo fiber brush mixed with natural goat hair and synthetic fibers designed for lightweight application and blending of face powders to a perfect finish. Having two levels of bristles provides the versatility of being able to layer product beautifully onto skin. I have been using this brush to Stipple my liquid foundation (Revlon Colorstay) into a flawless, airbrushed finish. Love it! It sheds a hair here and there, but nothing major.
The 948 Foundation Brush is a synthetic, three toned oval shape brush made to apply an even application of liquid and cream foundations and concealers. The shape makes it perfect for getting into hard to reach places such as around the nose and under the eyes, and I’ve been using it for just that. This brush does not shed at all.
Bdellium Tools brushes wash well and dries to it’s original fluffy shape. Due to the dense fibers, you definitely need to allow ample time to dry though. The brushes are well made and of professional quality. Perfect for personal use or for use in your MUA kit. Each brush is versatile with many different uses. Overall, these brushes get a big thumbs up in my book. You can purchase Bdellium Tools Brushes at www.bdelliumtools.com.
