I have been hearing really good things about the Victoria’s Secret Foundation Primer and wanted to try it out for a while now. Geesh this stuff is hard to get a hold of! Every time I went to pick it up it was sold out, so my initial thought was “This stuff has to be good!” Recently I placed an online order with VS and placed a bottle in my cart. Of course it was on back order for 2 weeks. I waited patiently for it to ship and was super excited when it finally arrived.
The Claim
Before our pros apply any makeup, they use primer to perfect the skin. This weightless, silicone-based gel-cream creates an exceptionally smooth, velvety surface for a flawless foundation application that lasts -VS
The bottle is sleek and professional looking and looks very similar to that of the Smashbox Photo Finish Primer. The pump dispenser makes the product easy to dispense. I like the fact that I do not have to place my fingers in a jar which is unsanitary.
The light-weight gel cream glides on smooth and sinks right into the skin, leaving a silky smooth base for makeup application. It feels a bit greasy while applying due to the silicones in the product but it dries quickly. After putting on my moisturizer, I apply the primer and let it sink in for about a minute before applying my foundation.
I have used this primer with both liquid and powder foundation, as well as mineral powder and it works great. My foundation applies flawlessly and stays all day. My skin looks as if it’s glowing, and my skin tone appears to be very even. I have been receiving tons of compliments on my skin and makeup and everyone wants to know what I use.
I am usually very oily in the T-zone and this primer really keeps the oil at bay. My nose gets a little shiny mid day but nothing a blotting sheet can’t handle. I do not need to retouch my makeup and only have to blot once for the day. I’ve been using this primer for a few weeks now and have not experienced any breakouts, and with SPF 20 it works as a sunscreen as well. My new Holy Grail!
The Victoria Secret Pro Airbrush FX Face Primer retails at $14 for .84 oz and can be purchased at your local VS store or online. This is relatively cheap compared to more expensive brands such as Laura Mercier and Smashbox. You only need a small pump to cover your entire face so the bottle will last a while.
Pros
- Glides on smooth and sinks right in
- Foundation applies evenly and flawless, and stays all day
- Contains SPF 20
- Inexpensive
Cons
- A little greasy

Oh guess now you know why it's always sold out lol. It's so important to have a good primer, I found one this year that agrees with me, but I'm always game to find others. Great review.

I love a good primer, so I will have to give it a try-great review!
Hello,
I bought this product for the first time a few months ago, and I love it! I never heard of primer before but one day looking around in the store I tried a sample and loved how my skin felt so I got it. I notice the make up stays longer and I even look younger! 😀
So ladies, don’t be afraid to try it, you will love it as well!
Thanks 🙂
Hello do you put this one your lids? Or is it not safe?
I’ve used it on my lids when not wearing eyeshadow without ill effects
