A few months ago I won a Smashbox Artist Eye Palette in Muse from a contest over at Aquahearts Obsessions. I totally forgot about it and ran across it today, right on time as the colors are perfect for Spring.

A few months ago I won a Smashbox Artist Eye Palette in Muse from a contest over at Aquahearts Obsessions. I totally forgot about it and ran across it today, right on time as the colors are perfect for Spring.

The palette looks pretty cool on the outside with a nice simple design, but I can see it getting dirty very quick…

It opens up to reveal a full mirror on the top and a palette of 10 eyeshadows on the bottom. It also comes with a cute wooden handled “Artist Brush”…

A closer view of the brush…

First of all, i love the way the palette is organized into coordinating pairs of colors. If you are a beginner just starting to experiment with color pairing, this palette is perfect for you. Now let’s see some swatches…

Now you can clearly see what I mean about the color pairing. Each shade on the top coordinates well with the shade below it to create a perfect look. The shadows are buttery smooth and very pigmented.

Here is a quick look I put together using the 2 purple shades from the palette…

I used the included brush to apply the shadows and it worked very well, picked up just the right amount of shadow and applied nicely.

The Smashbox MUSE Artist Eye Palette retails for $48, that’s under $5 a shade which is not bad at all. However, it is currently on sale at Smashbox for $24, a 50% discount. Go snatch one up before it’s gone!

Apparently my bangs need a trim, so I am off to go and take care of that lol

    1. Thanks hon. With the Bohemian palette, it’s plastic so i can be cleaned a bit. This palette is more like a really thick cardboard so once it gets filthy, that’s it. I’ve been babying my Bohemian palette to keep it clean lol
