L'Oreal Beauty Tubes Mascara Review

L’Oreal Double Extend Beauty Tubes Mascara has been around for quite sometime now, but is new to me. I have been using this mascara for the past two months and I am quite pleased. It is a double sided, two step mascara with a primer on one end and the actual mascara on the other. It is a tubing mascara. Tubing mascaras unlike regular mascaras form little tubes around your natural lashes to help them look longer and fuller. Best of all, it is removable with water. You just wet your lashes and the little tubes slide right off.

What it claims…

My experience…

As I stated earlier, this is a double sided, two step mascara with the primer on one end and mascara on the other. The brushes are very full and pick up a decent amount of product. My lashes are pretty curly, but not very long or full. The primer elongates the lashes and makes them appear a bit fuller. It helps the tubes to adhere to the lashes.

As you can see, my lashes are extremely full and comparably long with this mascara. It almost looks as if I am wearing falsies. The primer along with the tubing technology really does give you fuller, longer lashes.

For best results I do one eye at a time, applying first the primer and then the mascara while the primer is still wet. You have to move a bit fast, but still apply with care and be sure to cover the lashes entirely so that the primer is not visible. If you wait until the primer is dry, the mascara will clump. Once the mascara is dry there is no flaking or clumping. It stays all day. I tend to pick at my lashes during the day because I always feel as if something is in my eye, and this mascara does not budge. However, I would not suggest that you use this mascara on the lower lash line. Since it removes with water if your eyes tear up, it will come off.

This mascara truly does remove with water and makeup remover does not work. I use my MAC Cleanse Off Oil to remove makeup from my eyes and face. When I am done, all traces of my liner is gone but this is still on. I then cleanse my face with my regular cleanser and while doing so I apply warm water to my lashes and Voila, the tubes slide off with no problem. Amazing.

My only gripes with this product is that it tends to dry out faster than other mascaras. After only a month, it began to clump a bit in the tube.  Also, it is pretty expensive for a drugstore brand at about $11 USD a tube. I believe it is worth the price though.

For more information and ingredients info see here.
I give this mascara a 4 out of 5, taking away one point since the tube doesn’t last as long as my other mascaras. I would repurchase.
