Maybelline Eye Studio Quick Review + FOTD

I was at Target the other day and picked up a few items from the Maybelline Eye Studio Collection… the Color Pearls Eyeshadow in Carbon Frost and the Lasting Drama Gel Eyeliner in Blackest Black.

This marbleized eyeshadow duo is very pretty.  A charcoal grey with silver glitter reflects and a silver toned pink. The duo is highly pigmented and glides on smooth. The charcoal shade had a bit of fallout, but nothing too major. No problems with creasing. At first glance, the charcoal shade reminded of MAC Cinderfella MES from the Style Black Collection. Here is a comparison…

Cinderfella, Charcoal shade from Eye Studio e/s, Pink from Eye Studio e/s

As you can see the Eye Studio shade comes pretty close, but the MAC MES has more apparent glitter. It is still close enough that I would say to go snatch this up if you missed out on Cinderfella.

I am really feeling the Lasting Drama Gel Eyeliner. It contains a generous amount of product and even came with it’s own little brush. The brush is not bad but I prefer to use my own. The liner is highly pigmented using a small amount, and very easy to apply. Glides on smooth like butter. No problems with smudging or fading, and it did not irritate my eyes at all.

I am highly impressed with this collection and definitely plan on picking up a few more items. Here is a FOTD I wore to a baby shower on Saturday, using the products…

Other products used:

MAC pigment in Vanilla to highlight inner V
MAC e/s in Shroom to highlight brow bone
MAC Zoom Fast Black Lash Mascara
MAC blush in Dollymix
Smith’s Rosebud Salve
NYX Mega Shine Lipgloss in Dolly Pink

Do you own anything from this collection?
