Rosebud Salve Review

Smith’s Rosebud Salve

“This cult-favorite, multi-purpose lip balm has been popular for over 100 years. An Old Family Standby Since 1895, this world-famous salve has been re-discovered by Hollywood stars and makeup artists. Rosebud Salve is still a favorite to aid in the relief of chapped and dry skin, blemishes, diaper rash, and detergent burns. Rosebud Salve is also a wonderful lip moisturizer and natural looking lip gloss. It moisterizes dry lips, calms and heals irritation, and soothes the sting of minor burns. Try dabbing on dry elbows or knees to condition, and relieve dryness. Also an excellent remedy for the treatment of diaper rash. The original flagship product, Smith’s Rosebud Salve remains our top seller. A glossy, non-sticky, non-waxy, texture makes this balm stand out. Only a dab is necessary, ensuring that one tin lasts a very long time! Mix with lipstick for extra shine. During allergy and cold season, dab on a dry, irritated nose to relieve discomfort.”

This review is for the original Smith’s Rosebud Salve.  The lip balm comes in a .8 oz tin and you get a very generous amount for the price.  I have been using my current tin everyday since early June, and I still have almost a half of tin left.  I mainly use this product as a moisturizing base under all of my lip glosses and lip sticks.  It protects my lips and keeps them from getting dried out and chapped. I also put some on my lips before bed. The salve is very rich and all you need is a small amount.  It is not sticky at all and not too greasy. A little really does go a long way. Since I have been using this product I have not had any problems with chapped lips.  I also use this product on my cuticles after a manicure/pedicure or when they become rough. I dab a small amount onto each cuticle and massage it in.

Smith’s Rosebud Salve is a holy grail product for me and I don’t plan to ever be without it.  It is very moisturizing and protects my lips from the harsh drying effects that other lip products may have. If you look at my FOTD’s you will notice that I use my Rosebud Salve all of the time, with every look.  I never skip this step.  Smith’s Rosebud Salve definitely gets a double thumbs up in my book!
