L’Oreal HiP Eyeshadow Duos and Wet ‘n’ Wild Craze Nail Color Collection… BOGO Haul!

Banned… huh what ban?!? lol Well I am supposedly on a BAN, but that went straight out of the window today! I stopped in Rite Aid on my lunch break to pick up a beverage and decided to browse the makeup aisle. Lo and behold they had the L’Oreal eye makeup on sale Buy One Get One (BOGO) FREE. They have this sale quite often but I never thought to grab anything. Well today I thought I would finally try some H.I.P. Shadow Duos. So I snatched up Sculpted and Flamboyant. These are usually $8 USD each but since they were BOGO Free, I paid $8 USD for both. Love both of these and plan to pick up some more!

Sculpted is a frosted rosy mauve paired with a frosted eggplant purple with pink flecks. I picked this up because MAC Beautymarked e/s has been on my wish list for a while, and the eggplant shade is supposed to be a dupe. Either way I love this duo since I have no similar shades in my collection.  The swatches were done without a base and in natural light. Both shades applied smooth and are very pigmented when layered.

Flamboyant is a shimmering golden yellow paired with a plum purple matte. I picked this up because I figured I could use it to recreate the Gold Rebel look from MAC Style Warriors Collection. The yellow applied smooth and had very good pigmentation when layered. It is also a dupe for MAC Golden Lemon pigment, just less shimmery.  The purple is a bit chalky and takes a lot more effort to get the desired pigmentation.  However with a good base like UDPP and some good brushes, this duo looks promising. These swatches are in natural light with no base as well.

Next I went over to the Wet ‘n’ Wild section and they had the Craze Nail Color Collection BOGO 50% off. So I added to my nail polish collection and picked up every shade that I could find Glitz, Lust, Inferno, Rustic, Jade and Nocturnal. These retail for $1.99 USD, so they were buy one at $1.99 get one for $. 99. All photos except for Glitz were taken with flash.
Pink, purple, blue and silver glitter in a clear base
hot pink frost with a purplish blue duochrome
bright tangerine orange frost with a gold duochrome
frosty brown with a deep bronze duochrome
apple green with a gold duochrome

deep navy creme, looks almost black without flash

This was taken with no flash. I swatched these on some clear tape and all were pretty opaque with 2 coats.  They applied very smooth and dried quick.  The colors are pretty much true to the bottle shade. The only thing that may be an issue to some is the short stubby brush due to the bottle design.  However it did not pose a problem for me. Overall I love these little gems!

This turned out to be a great haul I must say! 🙂

When I’m not hunting down the latest and greatest beauty products, beating a face or lacing a do, you can find me roaming the streets of NYC in my stilettos looking for the next best restaurant. Or in the kitchen trying to outdo myself from the last time.
