For Thanksgiving I like to be as comfortable as possible to inhale, I mean eat as much as possible. Sorry I am greedy lol. However, I still like to be cute. I find one of the easiest ways to do this is with a Slouchy Sweater Dress. Kanye West rocked the mic last night at the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show taping wearing a bomber jacket from the upcoming Versace for H&M Men’s Collection. Houndstooth is big this Fall but if you let me tell it this classic print never goes out of style. I lucked out and found a wool Houndstooth blazer from the local thrift guy near my job for $5. Yup you read right, $5 new without tags. I quickly snatched it up before he changed his mind. I decided to pair it with a multi-colored leopard blouse and solid black skinny pants. Cold is never cute. The midi skirt is very popular this Fall and with the temperature dropping rapidly in NYC I am grateful for the trend. A midi skirt falls between the knee cap and mid calf in length, and the longer hem is perfect for the cooler weather. You can be cute and wear your skirts without freezing your assets off. There’s this guy near my job that has what I like to call a portable thrift shop, rolling racks of used and sometimes vintage clothing lined up next to other vendors on the block of choice for that day. The clothing is never more than $5 and if you get 5 pieces you pay $20. I usually don’t find anything that I like in my size until I found this kimono sleeve sweater a few weeks ago. I love this blazer, the perfect piece to spice up an otherwise boring outfit. It belonged to my Nana and it is a Vintage Sag Harbor 100% Pure Wool blazer, probably from the 80′s.
