The Black Opal Color Splurge Collection is a new collection that features a line of extremely pigmented eyeshadow duos and two lines of glosses, one richly hued and the other sparkly and iridescent. I received a few products from each line to show you guys so let’s start with the Color Surge Eyeshadow Duos. Warning in advance, this post is VERY picture heavy!
Something about green and purple eyeshadows just really make brown eyes pop. The Kevyn Aucoin Essential Eyeshadow Set in Palette #6 is filled with cool toned minty greens along with a popping purple, pearl white to highlight and soft black to define. All of the shades are silky smooth, easy to apply and blend and are very long lasting. It’s such a gorgeous palette!
MAC Vex Eyeshadow is one of those shades that I pull out when I want to wear eyeshadow but don’t have time for anything fancy. It works well as a quick wash all over the lid. Just blend it out, add some black eyeliner and mascara and you have a quick yet gorgeous eye look. Since it has a pink undertone I like to pair it with pink lips and neutral blush.
Mehron iNtense Pro Pressed Powder Pigments are extremely pigmented eyeshadows with a velvety matte, long lasting finish. The color payoff is truly amazing as well as the 32 shade selection. Even though these are eyeshadows the pigmentation and silky finish allows for certain shades to have multiple purposes. As soon as I saw Earth Crust I knew that it would be gorgeous as a blush.
A few more Illamasqua goodies that I received from my friend Dani as a gift a few months back were the Liquid Metal in Superior and Cream Eyeshadow in Suck. I photographed, swatched then sat them aside forgetting about them. I finally pulled them out to create a look and I am not thrilled at all.
Do you guys remember how I raved over the Milani Shadow Eyez Eyeshadow Pencils? The Shadow Eyez 12 HR Wear Eyeshadow Pencils are simply the bomb, extremely pigmented and long wearing. Well Milani is back again with more shades of the Shadow Eyez Pencils but don’t sleep because this collection is limited edition.
I have a bunch of eyeshadow bases including a few shimmering neutral shades, but all are either white pearl or pink toned champagne in color. I’ve been missing a simple shimmering beige, that is until I happened upon Maybelline Color Tattoo Metal 24 HR Cream Gel Eyeshadow in Barely Branded.
