Wash and Go Perfection on 4C Hair

I’ve been extremely busy over the last few weeks and in turn have been very lazy when it comes down to my hair. My current go to style has been a Wash and Go as it takes less work than my other go to styles, and still lasts up to a week. I’ve been wearing a Wash and Go so much that I’ve perfected my method. I see a lot of 4c naturalistas saying that they can’t rock this style, or it doesn’t work with our hair type. Don’t be fooled. We can rock a Wash and Go just like any other hair type. It’s all about product selection and execution.

Wash and Go Creme of Nature Pudding Perfection

After wearing a Wash and Go on the regular, I’ve figured out what products or combination of products give me the best results. Here are some of my favorites…

Wash and Go Eco Styler Gel

Creme of Nature Pudding Perfection + Olive Oil ECO Styler Gel

This is the product combination that I used to achieve the Wash ‘n Go shown above. The Creme of Nature with Argan Oil Pudding Perfection Curl Enhancing Creme is very rich and moisturizing and leaves my coils super defined, soft and shiny. The Eco Styler Olive Oil Gel helps to hold the style for up to a week.

Wash n' Go SheaMoisture Coconut & Hibiscus

SheaMoisture Coconut & Hibiscus Curl & Style Milk + Curl Enhancing Smoothie + Curling Gel Soufflé

The Curl & Style Milk detangles, conditions and restores curls while restoring body and shine. The Curl Enhancing Smoothie is super moisturizing and combats frizz, and the Curling Gel Soufflé adds additional moisture while giving the style longevity. This is actually my favorite combo as my hair retains it’s moisture for the entire week and it’s not crunchy or hard. I add Eco Styler gel when I want more hold.

As I Am Coil Defining Jelly and Leave-In Conditioner

As I Am Leave-In Conditioner + Coil Defining Jelly

The As I am Leave-In Conditioner adds an abundance of moisture and shine, and has a lot of slip making my hair easy to detangle. The Coil Defining Jelly adds additional moisture and  shine, and defines coils. The result is extremely moisturized and defined coils with a soft finish, and no flaking.

Eden BodyWorks Coconut Shea Natural Curling Jelly

Eden Body Works Coconut Shea Natural Curling Jelly

The Eden Body Works Coconut Shea Natural Curling Jelly is a lightweight gel that provides curl definition with a frizz free, no flaking finish. The jelly can be used for a wash ‘n go and textured styles such as finger shingles, finger coils and twist outs. I find that curling jellies work best on extremely wet hair for best curl definition. The Coconut Shea Natural Curling Jelly works best when used alone as it doesn’t play nicely with other products (major flaking.) This is ok though as it does a great job leaving the hair super moisturized and defined all by it’s lonesome.

Check out my tutorial to help you achieve a super defined Wash and Go on your 4c TWA. If your hair is longer, you can skip using the comb and just use your fingers to shingle the products through your hair. That’s the method that I currently use for the  longer parts of my hair. Let me know if you guys have any questions!

Does your hair curl naturally? Products only enhance your natural curl pattern, they can’t create curls

It sounds like that’s the pattern left over from the style
