I have to thank my girl Dani from Royal Flush Mag for sending me over a bunch of Illamasqua goodies. She had dupes from a recent purchase and knew that they would have a good home with me. Thanks again girl! Now, bold lips is my thing. A lot of days I don’t really have time for intricate eye makeup as I’d rather get some extra sleep, so winged liner with a nice blush and bold lips is pretty much my makeup uniform for work these days. A lot of brown skinned beauties are afraid to be bold with with their lipstick especially with brighter shades but uh uh honey, not I said the cat. From bold reds to super bright oranges and pinks, that’s me on the regular. Brown skinned beauties look awesome in bold lips as it stands out more on our skin so ladies stop being afraid. This lipstick right here will take you a step in the right direction.
Drench is a warm toned matte berry red. It is extremely pigmented and glides on very smooth and creamy for a matte finish. I find that matte formulas are always a bit drying so I apply a lip balm first. In doing this the lipstick doesn’t dry my lips out and that is the case with Drench. It has great staying power but you will need to touch it up after a meal. It doesn’t come off completely but it does look worn. I like to wear it with MAC Raizin Blush…
This is the type of shade that transcends all seasons and will work with almost any skin tone. It’s bold without being too much and it’s work appropriate. I can see myself reaching for this shade a lot. Illamasqua lipstick retails at $24 and can be purchased at Sephora. Stay tuned because I will have some more Illamasqua goodies to show you and now that I’ve experienced this awesome brand I am sure you will see it around here even more.

This color is beautiful and looks absolutely gorgeous on you! I would totally wear a shade such as this, because I’m a bold lip and blush girl myself. Colorful lips and cheeks is a nice way to look polished with little effort, and I’m all for simplicity when it comes to makeup! Unfortunately, my lips absolutely hate lipstick! Almost every one I’ve tried gives me dryness and discomfort, so I opt instead for opaque glosses to get color and shine in one. You wouldn’t happen to have any Illamasqua Intense Glosses among your goodies would you?! I’ve been eyeing them on Sephora’s website, but would love to see them in action as they’re not available for swatching in my local Sephora.
