DIY Lipstick Storage Idea

With my lipstick and lipgloss collection growing, I needed a new way to store it so that I can see everything at once when choosing a color. I previously stored it in drawers like this…

Trying to find something when I needed it took too long and I would end up wearing the same colors because it’s right on the top when I am in a rush. So I decided to make my own storage unit for my lipstick and lipgloss using one of my son’s old shoe boxes. All you need is the shoe box, some duck tape with designs and a scissor. Start by cutting the box in half…

Then fit the two pieces together tightly…

Trim the excess off the edges…

Start covering the entire box with the designed duck tape…

Box covered completely…

Using the box top, cut out dividers…

Cover the dividers with the tape and lightly tape them in. This way they are adjustable and removable. Now you have a lipstick storage box with 3 adjustable compartments. I will be adjusting mine when I finish swatching some more lippies waiting to be put in. You can use it for pencils and potted glosses as well… oh and brushes too! I put my lippies in upside down so that I can see the names…

"Do It Yourself Lipstick Storage"

For size reference, I can easily hold it in my palm.

This is super easy to make with materials that you probably already have in your home. I found the tape at Target when I was looking for a nice tape to seal my AC unit into my window. They had other designs such as zebra print and different colors too.

So what do you guys think?

When I’m not hunting down the latest and greatest beauty products, beating a face or lacing a do, you can find me roaming the streets of NYC in my stilettos looking for the next best restaurant. Or in the kitchen trying to outdo myself from the last time.

After taking most of my shoes out of boxes and putting them on a shoe rack, I have a ton of empty boxes. I haven’t recycled them yet so I could probably build an entire storage unit! Lol

U are very creative, just loved it. Cute Cute Cute, wiSH I could have someting like that, but my niece will destroy it in a matter of a day, and even though most of my lippies are noT SUPER expensive, I love them all, lol. Well aBOUT the recipe, I just cooked Code Fish with fresh cream yesterday, delicious, really. BUT, its high calorie, lol, not an everyday indulgence. I have to buy a makeup case, as my makeup collection grew into a little monster. I have a 180 eyeshadow palette and since I am a beginner its really nice.
