Polish Pick: Color Club Explosive

I was so in love with China Glaze Spontaneous that I kept in on for two weeks, which I never do. With a slight touch up and another layer of top coat, it held up for the whole two weeks with minimal tip wear. Big thumbs up for superb performance. Anyway, onto this weeks Polish Pick: Color Club Explosive…

"Color Club Explosive"
1 coat Seche Vite Crystal Clear Base Coat
3 coats Color Club “Explosive”
1 coat Seche Vite Dry Fast Top Coat

In the bottle, Color Club Explosive from the Flower Power Neon Collection looks like a taxi cab yellow. However, on my nails it is more of a bright neon pumpkin orange. I had to add thinner to my bottle as it was applying very thick and I was having a hard time. This could be due to the fact that I’ve had this bottle for a year before using it, so I won’t blame the polish. Explosive is quite sheer and after applying 3 coats I still had a visible nail line. As with most neons, the color will pop more over a white base so I will use one next time. Maybe a white base will also help Explosive to be more true to the shade in the bottle. Since it was a bit thick it took a while to dry completely and dried to a matte finish, as most neons. This shade is definitely bright and not for the faint of heart as your nails will draw attention. Perfect for summer. Perfect for the beach.
