Performance
As I mentioned earlier, I have been using this primer everyday since purchasing it. I cleanse, tone and moisturize my face, and apply the primer over my moisturizer. I take a dime sized amount, dab a bit on my forehead, nose, chin and cheeks, then spread it evenly all over my face. The primer has a light puddy texture but finishes into a silky powder. It is not drying at all. I've tried the primer with my MAC Studio Fix Powder Plus Foundation and also with my MAC Mineralize Skinfinish Natural. Both applied smooth over the primer and the primer did give my makeup a more flawless finish. I have an annoying pimple on my left cheek that I am trying to get rid of, and the primer made it a bit less visible, NOT invisible but less noticeable. I do not wear liquid foundation so I was not able to test this primer with one.
Now I have combination skin but I get very oily in the T-Zone, especially when I have bangs. If I don't use oil absorbing sheets during the day to clean up my nose and forehead, it can look like an oil slick at the end of the day. Here is the biggie, I did not have to use my oil absorbing sheets at all while using this primer! It kept me matte throughout the entire day and kept the oil at bay. At 10 pm the other night there was still no oil, just a slight shine coming through on my nose and forehead. I had applied the primer at 7:30 am. Very impressive.
I had never tried a primer for the face prior to this as I did not really realize the importance. Now I know, and will be wearing a primer from now on. There is one thing I really do not like about this primer though, it is very small and a bit expensive for a drugstore brand. It retails $12.95 USD for a .5 fl oz jar, about the size of a jar of eye cream. In my opinion that is extremely small, I will see how long one jar lasts. However, I like this primer so much that I will continue to purchase it until something better comes along. Since this is my first face primer, I definitely plan to try out some other brands.
I like this primer so much that I went out to purchase another jar for one of my lucky readers to win. Yes you heard right, I am having a GIVEAWAY for a jar of L'Oreal Studio Secrets Professional Secret No.1, Magic Perfecting Base Face Primer!

My favorite primer is Monistat's chafing relief gel. It's inexpensive and it keeps me matte all day like this does for you. I'm always looking for something that keeps me matte and this sounds wonderful!

My favorite face primer is the Korean brand Skinfood Peach Sake Pore Serum. It controls my oil pretty good, but not excellent. I'm wondering if this Studio Secret is better!
I just saw the Studio Secret Line out at only one of the local stores. I'm in a small village in Austria now, so makeup products are scarce and a tad behind here :D
I don't use primers.

monistat chafing gel! :)

I don't use a primer. I have large pores and dry skin. I've tried Korres primer, bare minerals prime time, monistat anti-chafe gel, elf Studio face primer, and smashbox and they just haven't wowed me. I didn't see much of a difference when I used them and, honestly, I get a better makeup application if I just make sure to use a very rich facial cream beforehand. I'm really interested in trying the L'Oreal primer. I've heard such great things about it.

Ok this one had me stumped when you asked what our favorite face primer is. What is classified as a primer? LOL... So I looked it up.
Oh gosh I have such a morning face regime! But the closest item to a primer is my Olay wrinkle filler (spackle for the face). You see I love how my concealor and foundation goe on after that. It may not be sold as primer, but it certainly works as one!
Ive never used primer before, but I think Im going to try this one out!
@misshollyrose Definitely give it a try girlie. I see you are a new follower, thanks for following and welcome to my blog! :)
